Catching Up

It’s crazy how fast time can fly.

Last time I sat down to write a blog post, we were in the beginning stages of our Tiny House build. I don’t even know if we had done anything further than buy the trailer and burn a bunch of unusable wood. Now, an unbelievable four (nearly five!) months has past and we are completely finished with our Tiny House and are living in in it!

But other things have happened to. I found out in late February that we were expecting our first child. Craziness! This news forced us to really consider the reasons, motivations, and practicality of going Tiny. Once we realized 100% this is what we needed to be doing (despite the opinions and facts and common sense of everything else ever), baby Joy became our reason to hustle up and get it done. And it has so paid off!

Although I slightly regret not documenting the building process through the blog, Jeff has done an incredible job on youtube following the process since week one.  So if you are dying to see how the build went, totally check out the channel he made.

But finally now, over halfway through my pregnancy and after the build, I feel like I can re-join society with a deep breath and a little bit of extra time on my hands. I am revisiting old passions (such as creative messes) and allowing myself more time to reflect and breathe (aka this blog). And can I just say it’s absolutely wonderful?

I know with a baby, life is only going to get crazier. I also know it’s so tempting to put aside the stuff that is good for us for the sake of time and making money. And that commitment is important.  And sometimes, you have to fight to make time for yourself.

So, here we go again.

    1. Thank you so very much! Once we found out baby was coming, Jeff stepped it up like crazy working from 7am every morning to sometimes 9 at night. We know we are in a unique situation that allowed us to put so many hours into our home, and not everyone can do that! Your home will be awesome when it’s complete. 🙂

  1. Wow! I can’t wait to see how you adjust to 3 in a tiny home! I want to do this also but I’m not sure how my husband, son, and I see going to make it happen. Good luck and please keep sharing! You’re an inspiration!

    1. Thank you so much for your comments! Tiny living is amazing, but not for every family. I hope whatever way your family makes a house a home is perfectly what YOU want. 🙂 Thank you so much!
